Lecturer: Professor Christine Cooper-Rompato
Title: Utah in the Green Book and other African American travel books
Christine Cooper-Rompato is a professor of English at USU. She is mentoring three students (Ella Stott, Eden Marroquin, Yasamin Osqueezadeh) on this project which is supported by the department of English, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and The Center for Intersectional Gender Studies Research.
The lecture focuses on Utah in the Green Book and other African American travel books published during segregation. These books were necessary so that African American travellers could safely navigate their journeys through states where segregation was common.
