February 2026 Lecture

Our next lecture is on Wednesday, February 11, at 7pm at the Logan Library (285 N Main)!

“From Shoebox to Showcase: Organizing and Preserving a Personal Archive at Home” by Sarah Berry & Braydon Wright, USU Special Collections & Archives

Whether they are tucked away in shoeboxes, filing cabinets or on hard drives, our family treasures deserve better than to be tucked away, lost or forgotten. In this brief workshop, two employees of USU’s Special Collections and Archives will outline simple and practical ways to start organizing, preserving, and sharing personal archives at home. The material in home archives range across a wide variety of mediums such as journals, letters, scrapbooks, photos, digital media and more. We will be discussing how archivists consider memory, consolidation, significance, and long-term care for their cherished memories in their own lives. We hope you’ll walk away from this personal archiving workshop with some simple and effective tools to implement with your own material at home.

All CVHS lectures are free and open to the public!
