Our first lecture of our 2025-2026 season is on Wednesday, September 10, at 7pm!
“The Mayor, the President, and the Town Barber: Remembering Joseph Howell and the creation of the Logan Forest Reserve” by Scott Bushman will be held at the Logan Library, 285 North Main Street.
Come hear the story of how a schoolteacher from Wellsville became the town mayor, became a member of the Utah Territorial Legislature, was instrumental in establishing Utah Agricultural College in Cache County, became a United States congressman, helped bring President Theodore Roosevelt to Utah, established the Logan Forest Reserve and then turned it over to the Logan town barber! Enjoy a “sneak peek” of the Cache Valley Historic Home Tour which will include the home of Joseph Howell in Wellsville.
CVHS lectures are free and open to the public.
