Our May lecture will be on Wednesday, May 14, at 7pm at the Logan Library (285 N Main).

“Buffalo Soldiers in Utah & Utah’s New Historic Trail” will be presented by Robert Burch, Alice Faulkner Burch, and Greg Mason and Sema Hadithi African American Heritage and Culture Foundation. This presentation will give an over-view of who the Buffalo Soldiers are, what units were stationed in Utah, where they did some of their work, military history they made here, and areas where the new Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Trail will cover.
Sema Hadithi African American Heritage and Culture Foundation is Utah’s only Black history organization. Its mission is to research, teach, and preserve Utah’s Black history. They create exhibits that circulate the state. This year they will be opening the historic Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Trail which will cover over 300 miles. They have partnered with Utah State Historical Preservation Office and Utah Cultural Site Stewardship Program to open this trail. There are a dozen stakeholders participating in this effort to bring to light the history of the Buffalo Soldiers’ work in Utah.
All CVHS lectures are free and open to the public!
