Title: Buffalo Bill and the Mormons

Abstract: Historian Brent M. Rogers will provide insights from his new book that examines the intersections in the epic histories of the famed showman William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1846 through 1917. In so doing, Rogers will explore and explain aspects of the cultural, political, environmental, and economic history of the American West. 

Bio: Brent M. Rogers, Ph.D., is a Managing Historian at the Church History Department, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the award-winning author of several books and articles, including Unpopular Sovereignty: Mormons and the Federal Management of Early Utah Territory (Nebraska, 2017).
